Dreamboats and Petticoats visiting Britain

Dreamboats and Petticoats is a new London musical based on the worldwide sold eponymous album. The show has some of the best sold songs of the Rock and Roll era such as "Shake all over", "Lets Dance", "Lets twist" again by Roy Orbsion, The Shadows, Billy Fury, Eddie Cochran and many more.

Dreamboats and Petticoats is written by the people behind Good night Sweetheart, Birds of a feather and Shine On Harvey Moon. It will be presented by Laurie Mansfield and Bill Kenwright. This is all happening under record label Universal music.

The play is set in England Essex at St Mungo Youth club during the now retro 1961. The year of famous stars such as Cliff Richard and the Young Ones and the largest Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament demonstration ever held in London. The story of this London musical is build around the songs from the CD Dreamboats and Petticoats.

The two talented youngsters Norman and Bobby are always competing and now they start competing for the national song writing competition. They do this to win the heart of their female fans Laura and Sue. Laura is a sixteen year old girl looking for love and affection and a career in music. Sue is a real maneater and she can use her charms to get whatever she wants. But when shy Laura shows her skills on the guitar Rock really starts.

Laura acted by Daisy Wood Davis, is falling in Love with Bobby played by Scott Burton. Unfortunately Bobby has a crush on the sexy Sue played by Jennifer Biddall.

The finalist from the hit singing X-factor show, Scott Burton, is making his professional debut in this show. The viewers from X-factor know that Scott Burton is an excellent singer and he plays his character Bobby with a very charming naivete. His more successful co-star, Emmerdale Ben Freeman, plays his arrogant wannabe rockstar Norman with a bit of mockery. The result is almost a caricature of the time which perfectly fits this type of musical. The performance of Emma Hatton is extremely exceptional and she is an outstanding vocalist in the musical.

After the release of the album last year, the album has become one of the best selling albums of the decade and it sold already more then 600.000 records and Dreamboats and Petticoats 2 went to number two of the album charts within two weeks.

The three hour long musical has a bit of everything adolescent romance with dancing and astonishing sets, costumes and hairstyles but most importantly all the classics you want.
